Disparities in Women's Health Care Roundtable Discussion
Health & Public Affairs II (HPA2)
The president of a local nonprofit and a faculty researcher will discuss health care disparities and their implications for women’s health at a roundtable discussion at the University of Central Florida.
Campus and local community members are invited to attend the discussion at Health and Public Affairs II, Room 247, on UCF’s Orlando campus, from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20.
The speakers are Jenna Tosh, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Greater Orlando, and Latarsha Chisholm, assistant professor of health services administration at UCF.
Tosh will discuss how health care disparities affect women, policies addressing women’s health and the impact of planned parenthood on women’s health. Chisholm will speak about health care disparities overall, highlight key factors contributing to disparities and identify other barriers to health care for women.

Calling All Animal Lovers

Disney Guest Speaker
Dr. Jacqueline Ogden is currently Vice President of Animals, Science and Environment Animal Programs and Environmental Initiatives for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. She received her Ph.D. in general/experimental psychology, with a specialization in animal behavior, from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1992. Her background includes animal behavior research, education, animal management, and people management. Her research has focused on the impact of zoo-type environments on both human and non-human animals – including the impact these environments have our guests conservation-related knowledge, attitudes/affect, and behavior. In her current position, Jackie has oversight responsibility for animal collections across Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, including direct animal care, veterinary care, and education, scientific and conservation programs. Additionally, she has oversight of environmental integration initiatives across Disney Parks, including ensuring accomplishment of environmental goals and targets.
She will be visiting UCF's Sanford Lake Mary Campus to speak about her work, how she got there, and to answer any question anyone may have.
