Nurse Entrepreneurship: One Nurse's Journey and Lessons Learned (1.5 contact hours)

Ken Dion, a UCF alumnus '91BSN, will discuss his journey and lessons learned as a Nurse Entrepreneur at the UCF Nursing Leadership in Practice Lecture on Feb. 14 from 4-6 p.m.

Dr. Dion will share his journey from newly graduated registered nurse to Founder and CEO of a software venture that was acquired by a publicly traded company. Dr. Dion will discuss the resources required and pitfalls to be avoided in the world of entrepreneurship. Parallels will be drawn between the academic and entrepreneurial journeys.

Dr. Dion is currently the assistant dean for business innovation and strategic relationships at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and founder of Decision Critical, Inc. which was acquired by HealthStream in 2012. He also currently serves as treasurer of Sigma: The International Nursing Honor Society is an honorary member of the National Student Nurses Association and is a current member of the Dean's Advisory Board at the UCF College of Nursing.
