All-Star Sports Medicine Panel

Friday, November 13, 2015 noon to 1 p.m.
The College of Medicine will present an All-Star Sports Medicine Panel on Friday, November 13 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Lewis Auditorium. The event is designed to raise awareness and interest in sports medicine and orthopedics in the greater Orlando area. Panelists will include Olympic Gold Medalist Justin Gatlin, current World Record Holder USA Track and Field Sprinter Kaylin Whitney, Former All-Pro NFL Player Tra Thomas, former U.S. Open Surfing Champion Shea Lopez and Orlando foot and ankle surgery specialist Dr. Gideon Lewis. The event will be emceed by WFTV Channel 9 Sports Anchor Christian Bruey. The athletes will share their experiences with sports injuries, training and the importance of a relationship with a sports medicine specialist in their success. Dr. Lewis, who advises the sports medicine and orthopedic M.D. student interest group, is a graduate of the College of Medicine's Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences. Read More
