CGS Speaker Series: Equal Means Equal

Sikes is a documentary filmmaker, investigative journalist, editor, and author. Her areas of expertise are women’s and youth issues captured in two of her most notable works- 8 Ball Chicks: A Year in the Violent World of Girl Gangsters and her recent documentary Equal Means Equal which highlights women’s eroding rights in the U.S. today. Among her honors, she was awarded a Knight Fellowship for journalists from Stanford University and a Planned Parenthood Maggie Award for exceptional media coverage of reproductive health. She earned a masters from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
