UCF Public Administration Research Conference

Friday, April 8, 2016 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For the 10th year, the School of Public Administration and the Center for Public and Nonprofit Management at the University of Central Florida are pleased to host the annual Public Administration Research Conference. This year, the theme, “Social Governance: Developments in Digital Democracy,” directly tackles the hot-button issue of digital technology use in public and nonprofit agencies. The adoption and implementation of these rapidly advancing technologies begs important questions such as:

  • How can public officials, administrators and nonprofit managers use social media to engage the public?
  • What social media technologies can they use effectively?
  • What barriers may be preventing them from using social media as a two-way communication, and what issues related to public records and privacy may arise from its use?

Speakers and attendees include elected officials, nonprofit managers, public information officers, urban planners, emergency managers, social media managers, public administration and public policy professors, communication researchers and scholars.
