The 2016 Gene J. Brutten Fluency Symposium will feature presentations by Nan Bernstein Ratner, Ed.D., a distinguished scholar in the areas of fluency development and disorder (stuttering), psycholinguistics, and the role of adult input and interaction in child language development.
Professor Ratner is a member of the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences at the University of Maryland in College Park. She is a Fellow and an Honoree of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

The biennial Gene J Brutten Fluency Symposium brings the most current information about disorders of fluency to clinicians and students in speech-language pathology. The symposium honors the late Gene J. Brutten, a former professor in UCF's Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders and research professor emeritus at Southern Illinois University. Brutten was an ASHA Fellow and Honoree. He passed away in 2013.
