Mitch is an Audit Partner and the Florida Real Estate and Hospitality Industry Leader for Grant Thornton, a global accounting firm. He has over 25 years of experience in public accounting. His professional experience includes serving clients in auditing as well as consulting, with particular emphasis in large privately-owned businesses including Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Miami Marlins and The Related Group.

Mitch was born in New York, but moved to South Florida at an early age. He is married to his lovely wife Emily for the past 21 years and has two incredible children, Jordan, a sophomore in College and Jessica, a High School student .

His vast community and civic involvement includes his years of service to the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science and Planetarium where he has served for the past 10 years as their Treasurer, Member of the Executive Committee of the Board and Chairman of the Finance Committee. In this capacity Mitch has overseen the finances of the existing museum as well as the new $300 Million world-class Science Museum project being constructed on the water in Downtown Miami since its inception. In addition, he is very involved with the University of Central Florida where he serves as a Member of the Executive Committee of the Dean’s Advisory Board of the College of Business Administration, active participant and speaker for the Dixon School of Accounting, one of the lead recruiters at UCF for his Firm, and proud member of the Golden Knights Club.

Mitch is also involved with Florida International University, and serves as a Member of their President’s Council, Athletic Committee Liaison with their Board of Trustees, a Member of their School of Accounting Advisory Board and a member of the Panther’s Club; Mount Sinai Medical Center as a Member of their Board of Trustees and their Finance and Audit Committees; the David Posnack JCC where he is a member of the Executive Committee of the Board and Fundraising Chair; and the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce as a member of the Real Estate Committee. Previously, he was Chairman of the Board of the Coconut Grove Playhouse, and a graduate of Leadership Miami.

In recognition for his contribution to the Science Museum and the community, on March of 2014 Mitch was the recipient of the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science Service Award 

He is a graduate of the University of Central Florida, Class of 1986, and is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive. His professional affiliations include: member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA), and a member and prior national board member of the Hospitality Finance and Technology Professionals Association (HFTP).
