How to Help Someone in Crisis

This course offers nonviolent crisis intervention training tactics that are designed to teach best practices for managing difficult situations and disruptive behaviors. In this class, you will learn how to identify at-risk individuals and learn how to use nonverbal and verbal techniques to defuse hostile or belligerent behavior. Students will also learn how to control their fear and anxiety, avoid injury when a crisis becomes physical, and respond to a variety of situations, including natural disasters, terrorist attacks and fires.
