Racism in the Era of #BlackLivesMatter: A Discussion of Racism in the University and the Orlando Community

UCF Sociology presents Racism in the Era of #BlackLivesMatter: A Discussion of Racism in the University and the Orlando Community on Tuesday, March 29th at 3:00 p.m. in the Classroom Building 2, room 207. The event will begin with a keynote message from Dr. Eduardo Bonilla-Silva, Professor and Chair of Sociology at Duke University and award-winning author studying racial matters. Immediately following the keynote address, an open dialogue on racism and prejudice in the era of #BLM movement inside and out of the university with a distinguished panel of race scholars and activists moderated by UCF Sociology faculty.

Panelist include:

Dr. Cameron Lippard, Associate Professor of Sociology at Appalachian State University

Fr. Jabriel Ballentine, Executive Council Member for the Episcopal Church and liaison to the Church's Commission on Anti-Racism

Dr. Tashel Bordere, Assistant Professor of Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Missouri

Semline Delva-Cultural Director of UCF's Multicultural Student Center
