The goal of SWEet College Day is to spark an interest in young women for engineering and other STEM majors through interactive workshops, which are planned and executed by current engineering students. The ideas for outreach workshops come from a wide variety of engineering disciplines, including but not limited to mechanical, civil, electrical, aerospace, environmental, and industrial. In addition to the interaction with UCF engineering students during the workshops, there is also a panel for the students, parents, and teachers who attend. In this panel, both engineering students and professionals will answer questions regarding engineering coursework, disciplines, internships, and careers.
SWEet College Day is for high school girls and will take place on April 23rd. Check-in will be at the UCF Harris Corporation Engineering Center. Check-in opens at 8AM, and the event starts at 9AM and runs until 3PM. Lunch will be provided. The event costs $7 for students and $6 for parents or teachers.
