Science Cafe: Sex on T.V.

Thursday, October 13, 2016 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Sex on T.V.
Ann Miller, Ph.D.
Associate Professor
UCF Nicholson School of Communication

The amount of sexual talk and behavior in popular TV programming has increased in recent years, and many of the sexual encounters portrayed on TV take place between people who have either just met or don’t know each other well. What are the implications of this for teenage viewers who are just making decisions about their own sexual values?

Dr. Miller will discuss trends in portrayal of sexual content in TV programming, and the current state of knowledge about how taking in that content is related to adolescents’ sexual attitudes and behaviors.

RSVP is requested.
