International Observe the Moon Night - (Brought to you by UCF's Robinson Observatory)

Saturday, September 6, 2014 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Be part of a global event! UCF is participating in "International Observe the Moon Night," a night when people all over the world will be gazing upon our nearest celestial neighbor, the Moon. (Website: http://observethemoonnight.org.) Weather permitting, we will have telescopes pointing at the Moon for you to look through. See the topography of lunar mountains, craters, and lava plains in exquisite detail! We may be able to also look at a few other bright objects in the sky. Please however check the Robinson Observatory webpage (http://planets.ucf.edu/observatory/openhouse) or the RO Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/UCFObservatory) by 6 p.m. to be sure that weather will in fact let us hold the event. (We can't observe through rain or overcast skies, alas.) Read More
