Disruptive Technology Trends in National Security

This presentation explores disruptive trends in technology and their impact on national security.

Speaker Biography:
Michael Macedonia is the Assistant VP for Research at the University of Central Florida and a consultant to the Army Science Board. UCF is the second largest university in the United States. Prior to joining UCF, Dr. Macedonia was a Vice President and Technical Fellow at SAIC. He also was the Director of the Disruptive Technology Office and established the Intelligence Advanced Projects Activity for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. IARPA is the U.S. intelligence community's centrally funded research activity for advanced
technology. At DTO, he oversaw programs in quantum computing, data analytics, and advanced computing. Prior to DTO, he was the Chief Technology Officer for PEO STRI in Orlando, FL and was responsible for the technology strategy of the U.S. Army's lead simulation system development organization. He is a former Army officer and has a PhD in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School, a MS in Telecommunications from the University of Pittsburgh, and BS in Electrical Engineering from West Point. He also is a highly cited author and a former contributing editor to IEEE Computer, IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications, and chair of ACM SIGGRAPH Pioneers.
