Richard Lapchick, Ph.D., is often referred to as the "racial conscience of sport". He is a human rights activist, pioneer for racial equality, internationally recognized expert on sports issues, scholar and author. He is a regular columnist for
ESPN.com and The Sports Business Journal. He received his Ph.D. in international race relations in 1973. Dr. Lapchick also serves as professor and endowed chair of the DeVos Sport Business Management Program.
