Teaching Writing in the Disciplines Workshop Series - Teaching Drafting, Revising and Editing

Tuesday, February 24, 2015 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Writing is a process, and the strategies students need to employ in order to complete a major writing assignment differ from one discipline to another and from one writing task to the next. For students to successfully master such a complex task, an instructor should encourage student writers to start working on their drafts early and also demonstrate techniques they can use to refine organizational structure and coherence, conduct global revisions, and implement specialized language in their discipline. This workshop can show an instructor how to make students responsible for correct and effective written communication in class.
