Community Service at Barker Park, Orlando

Monday, January 19, 2015 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Volunteer UCF will be performing community service by planting seedlings at George Barker Park (2000 Monte Carlo Trail, Orlando, FL 32805, www.cityoforlando.net/parks/barker-park/). This day coincides with the release of a new book volume, National Service and Volunteerism: Achieving Impact in Our Communities, edited by Thomas Bryer, director of the Center for Public and Nonprofit Management and associate professor of public administration. The book contains a chapter written by Volunteer UCF students as well as three other members of the public administration faculty -- Dorothy Norris-Tirrell, Stephanie Krick and Jay Jurie.

Members of the campus community are invited to volunteer at the event and to attend an 11:30 a.m. ceremony that recognizes Volunteer UCF and the new book.
