The University of Central Florida Art Gallery is proud to present the UCF Percussion Ensemble, featuring Thad Anderson, John Gavin, Anthony Grande, Mitchell Gribbroek, Christian Martin and Austin Warren, who will perform on found and handmade wooden instruments, hi-hat, snare drums and kick drums.
Compositions will include:
- Stridulations, by Billy Martin who "when not performing with Medeski Martin & Wood," according to his website, "continues to collaborate with other musicians in improvisational projects."
- Totems, by Thad Anderson, who is an international performer and Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida Music Department and is also known as a frequent "'Accidental Music Festival' performer," by the Orlando Weekly.
- Music for Pieces of Wood, by Steve Reich, who was recently called "America's greatest living composer," by The Village VOICE.
