The Honorable Manpreet Singh Anand

Manpreet Singh Anand is an Adjunct Senior Fellow of the Asia-Pacific Security Program at the Center for a New American Security. He is a Distinguished Professor of Practice in the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies at the National Defense University. Previously, Anand was the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, responsible for policy towards and diplomatic relations with the countries of South Asia, including India. Anand has also served as the Deputy Assistant Administrator at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), responsible for the South and Central Asia regions. Other posts have included Senior Policy Advisor for South and Central Asia issues on the U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee and assistant at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
