March is recognized as Women’s History Month, a time to credit and celebrate the vast contributions of women to society. Portraits of Empowerment: Womanhood & Activism honors women and, specifically, their relationships to activism as they highlight current needs for social change through nonviolence. This collection of vibrant works largely focused on portraiture, spans the media of painting, drawing, photography, film, and more. The exhibition offers a personal look at a diverse cast of women while underlining the different concerns they face.
