Lieutenant General (LTG) Jeffrey S. Buchanan

LTG Buchanan’s comments will cover the history of the creation of USNORTHCOM and ARNORTH, and describe the three missions of his headquarters: homeland defense, theater security cooperation and defense support to civil authorities. He will share his personal experiences from leading operations in support of the the 2017 responses to hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Maria and Oregon wildfires; the 2018 support to hurricanes Florence and Michael; the California wildfires; and ARNORTH's response to the 2018-19 southwest border crisis.
