Presenters:

Fernando I. Rivera Ph.D.

Professor of Sociology and Director, UCF’s Puerto Rico Research Hub

Dr. Rivera will be speaking on the fast-growing Puerto Rican demographic in Central Florida and motives for migrating, including the significant influx post Hurricane Maria.

Nancy Rosado, MSW

Outreach Coordinator, UCF RESTORES and Community Leader

Nancy will discuss UCF RESTORES’ trauma-informed mental health and support services to survivors of Hurricane Maria.

Zoé Colón, MPA

PEID Community Partnerships Manager, UCF and Community Leader

Ms. Colón will offer insight on how grassroots community based organizations have responded to the influx of Puerto Ricans in the last decade.
