The LGBTQ History Museum of Central Florida and the University of Central Florida RICHES project ask for your help to ensure that we preserve the stories and experiences of queer people of color in Central Florida’s history. Though we have several thousand images in our archives, we’ve identified gaps that leave our local Latinx, Black, and Asian Pacific Islander communities underrepresented.
Be a part of this opportunity to expand our archives and preserve stories of our community’s pride and activism. Gather and bring your personal photos as well as documents that capture events, everyday life, and important moments in LGBTQ history. This collection is particularly focused on celebrating and preserving the contributions of people of color in the LGBTQ community, but all donations are welcome.
Examples of items you can share include:
Photos and memorabilia
Newspapers and news articles
Signs and/or posters
