GIS Day 2019 at UCF: A Focus on Maps, Apps and Drones!

Join us at the University of Central Florida on Thursday, November 14 from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. for a free STEAM education event. 

GIS Day 2019 at UCF: A Focus on Maps, Apps and Drones!

Geared toward 2nd to 8th grade students.

Pre-register your class, organization, homeschool, family or just yourself for our 2019 Maps, Apps, and Drones On-Campus Event as part of GIS Day 2019, hosted by UCF's Citizen Science GIS team, the Department of Sociology and iSTEM. The event will take place in the Student Union on the UCF main campus. Students will complete hands-on activities focused on maps, apps and drones with our Citizen Science GIS team.

Students will engage in an interactive assembly and then participate in hands-on learning activities that may include:

  • using mapping apps
  • walking across a giant map of Florida
  • flying mini-drones, using virtual reality goggles
  • learning about topography with an augmented reality sandbox
  • using block coding with Sphero robots

and more!

This event will fill quickly. It is free and open to all educators and their students, but pre-registration is required. We are limited to no more than 375 attendees in the student union for this free STEAM education event.
