Get to Know the School of Public Administration

Thursday, January 16, 2020 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Welcome to the School of Public Administration! This workshop is for new and current students of the UCF School of Public Administration (SPA). Join us as we discuss everything you need to know to get the most out of your time with SPA! Gain an understanding of the tools and knowledge needed to navigate your degree and prepare effectively for your future profession.

In this informal setting, we’ll discuss the School, how we operate and highlight some key faculty for research and other opportunities. We’ll provide an overview of key events to participate in, student organizations to join and opportunities to build your skills to help you be professionally ready upon graduation.

We will also address items of interest for first generation and transfer students.

Our presenters include Steven Carrillo, one of our excellent advisors with a wealth of “how does it work?” knowledge; Mirtha Bailey, our hands-on learning coordinator; and Dr. Buckingham, a faculty with thirty years as a practitioner in public administration, principally at NASA. We will also have a current student – someone who has ‘done it all’ who can answer questions and provide tips. All are welcome!

Registration is requested.
