ECE Professional Development and Career Planning Day

Kalyan K. Karnati received the M.S. and Ph. D degree in electrical engineering from the
University of Central Florida (UCF), Orlando, in 2011 and 2015 respectively. He is currently working as senior research and development engineer in advanced Bulk Acoustic Wave (BAW) development team at Qorvo, Apopka, FL. His research interests include advanced BAW filters, reflectarrays, micro-fabrications and reconfigurable antennas. Mr. Karnati has served as chair and vice-chair for IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques (MTT) and IEEE Antennas and Propagation (AP) from 2012-2014. He was reviewer for IEEE Transactions in Antennas and Propagation (TAP), Progress in Electromagnetic Research (PIER) and Journal of Electromagnetic waves and applications.

Larry Bonner is the Engineering Lead for Capacity Planning in the Reliability Engineering
department. In this role, he is principal liaison for the transmission organization and
responsible for sponsoring the Transmission and Distribution projects that either add or
increase capacity of the distribution infrastructure in Florida. With more than thirty-four
years in the utility industry, Larry has served in various leadership capacities and
represented his organization within the industry as well as on several special projects.
During major storms, Larry is the System Forensics Damage Assessment Lead for the
Florida Region of Duke Energy. Larry has also served two years as an Associate Director for GOBA.
