Virtual Faculty Research Talks

Friday, May 29, 2020 noon to 1 p.m.

Join us for a new Zoom-cast series, every Friday, 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., offering four 10-minute talks by UCF faculty presented in the College of Engineering and Computer Science.

All are invited to Zoom-in and hear short presentations by faculty who explain their cutting-edge, pioneering research endeavors in quick, 10-minute snapshots.

These talks provide an opportunity to get to know — and collaborate with — UCF faculty who are advancing innovations in aerospace, medicine, manufacturing, electronics, energy, the environment, and so much more. Each faculty presenter will narrate as they share illustrative slides.

Moderated by Subith Vasu, Ph.D., assistant professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, viewers will be able to submit questions following each speaker's presentation.

You'll hear from:

  • Samiul Hasan, Ph.D., Asst. Professor, Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering, on Data Science for Smart and Resilient Cities: Infrastructure Dependency, Disaster Management, and Deep Learning in Transportation
  • Yajie Dong, Ph.D., Asst. Professor, Materials Science and Engineering, on Luminescent Nanomaterials and Devices for Display, Lighting and Photomedicine
  • Ben Sawyer, Ph.D., Asst. Professor, Industrial Engineering and Management Systems, on Improving Information Throughput, Human to Machine and Back
  • Seetha Raghavan, Ph.D., Assoc. Professor, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, on Capturing Mechanical and Material Response to Extreme Aerospace Environments
