The College of Nursing is hosting its semi-annual Embedded Participant Volunteer training event during National Healthcare Simulation Week for indivduals who are interested in volunteering as remote "patients" or "actors" in simulations used to train nursing students in the college's internationally accredited STIM Center. Volunteers must be 18 years or older.

The Embedded Participant Program interacts with the college's student club Simsations-4-LIFE. The student-led simulation group schedules and assists volunteers to portray roles in simulation activities in the College of Nursing, which enhance the education of nursing students. The Embedded Participant Volunteer training will cover: policies and procedures, FERPA, state of the science in healthcare simulation, standards of best practice, the plan for remote volunteering during COVID (as well as plans for in-person volunteering post-COVID), and testimonies will be shared by current members.

The College of Nursing welcomes members of the community to become Embedded Participant Volunteers.
