Diversity Speaker Series: Microaggressions

Reshawna Chapple, Ph.D., L.C.S.W., is an assistant professor in the School of Social Work. Her research and teaching centers around issues of social justice and cultural competence in social work practice, intersectionality, disabilities and race. Dr. Chapple will be hosting a student panel discussion and teach-in conducted in her BSW Cultural Competence in social work class focused on the Negative Effects of Bias, Stereotyping and Microaggressions. During this presentation students will share personal stories and discuss the ways in which microaggressions produce negative cognitive, physiological and emotional effects.
