The Charleston UCF Alumni Club and Charleston ECU Alumni Chapter are hosting a joint community food drive through the Lowcountry Blessing Box Project. In a friendly competition, each of the groups will try to donate the most items for bragging rights!
There are two ways to participate: drop off donations to one of the many Blessing Box locations, or donate to their Amazon Wish List.
Physical Donations: Drop off non perishable food items or toiletries at one of the numerous blessing boxes throughout the community. Take a picture with your donation and post it in our Facebook Group using hashtag #UCFLowcountryFoodDrive or upload it here. When posting on Facebook, make sure we can see how many items you donated so the number of items in your picture can be verified. Please follow COVID safety protocols if you choose this route!
Amazon Wish List Donations: This is a great option for those who can’t or have concerns about going physically to blessing boxes. To verify these donations please upload a copy of your Amazon receipts here.
On a competitive note: Items can't be weighed due to the circumstances of donating, items will be counted based on quantity. For items to count toward our total, they must be visible in pictures posted to Facebook or specified on the Amazon receipts submitted. Individual packages will be counted separately. Individual items must be packaged for individual serving by the manufacturer. For example: two boxes of pasta would count as two items or one box of 30 individually packaged fruit cups would count as 30 items.
