Paper House explores fragility, transparency, and validation of intimate relationships and experiences through a variety of mediums and processes. The exhibition showcases the thesis work of Master of Fine Arts candidates in the UCF School of Visual Arts and Design: Gabe Cortese, Danielle Culibao-Powell, Tim Reid and Annette Tojar.
Gabe Cortese’s paintings and drawings depict codification of queerness through figuration and symbolism.
Danielle Culibao Powell creates paintings and collages to expand upon personal experiences of falling into, or between, multiple cultures at once.
Experimental filmmaker and installation artist Tim Reid provokes viewers with specific and universal insecurities, contradictions, and hypocrisy.
Embracing her passion as a former professional pastry chef, Annette Tojar creates paintings of food to explore her cultural identity and personal histories.
