UCF Spring 2021 Virtual Education Career Fair

Date: March 26, 2021 | 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

ATTENTION REGARDING STUDENT REGISTRATION:

Students must register in advance via Career Fair Plus in order to schedule one-on-one meetings with organizations. Some organizations may have drop-in rooms the day of the event, but scheduled meetings are your only guaranteed way to connect with them. Registration is not available through Handshake. See below for instructions.

Registration will open mid-March.

This is your chance to connect virtually with organizations, who are recruiting students for full-time and part-time jobs. Virtual fairs are online 'events' that allow students and employers to meet in virtual environments such as through voice calls or video chat rooms.

The virtual fair will take place via a platform called Career Fair Plus. Here is how to get started:

Step 1) Visit app.careerfairplus.com

• If you prefer, you can also download the Career Fair Plus app to your phone (iOS or Android).

Step 2) Select "University of Central Florida"

Step 3) Click on “UCF Spring 2021 Virtual Education Career Fair”

Step 4) On the fair home page, you can view a current list of participating employers

Step 5) To create your profile, click "LOGIN" in the upper right-hand side of your screen. Then, click "Sign Up" and select "Student or Candidate." Here you will be able to enter your information and upload your resume.

Step 6) Appointment Sign-Ups will open in mid-March.

• Tap on the employer you would like to meet with and then tap 'Meetings' to see the schedules they have available
• Employers may have multiple schedules; select the schedule that you're interested in
• Choose a time that works for you, and hit 'YES' to book the meeting time

Scheduling Appointments Before the Virtual Fair

Students & alumni will be able to set up video appointments (typically between 5-15 minutes) with employers at the fair. Sign-Ups for time slots begin mid-March. We recommend signing up for time slots as soon as they open to ensure you are able to meet with the employers you are most interested in.

You should also check back every few days leading up to the event, because more employers may sign up or add additional schedules.

 Suggestions for a Professional Virtual Presence:

• Professional Attire Encouraged: Professional suit with jacket, blouse, or button-down collar shirt, tie if applicable. Freshly groomed hair (facial hair included).
• Background: Plain, solid color background. Clear out clutter, garbage, inappropriate décor.
• Lighting and Sound: Natural lighting near window is best, otherwise proficient lighting near face. Quiet space, no background music, TV.
• Webcam Framing: Face should be evenly centered on screen (beware of too much headspace or cropping off the top of your head). Maintain eye contact through the webcam.
• Be Prepared: Check Handshake for Career Services Virtual Etiquette workshops, or find video resources via the Career Services Facebook.
