Romeo and Juliet Mock Trial - The Trial of Friar Lawrence

Tuesday, February 21, 2012 5:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
Students - $15

Based on William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, this lively event will explore whether Friar Laurence is legally culpable for the untimely deaths of doomed youth Juliet and Romeo. After the teenagers are found dead in the Capulet Vault, Prince Escalus declares there will be "more talk of these sad things;/Some shall be pardoned, and some punished", implying that he plans to deliver justice. Topping the list of possible suspects is Friar Laurence, who is, as he admits himself, the "most suspected". As usual, there will be a number of twists, turns, and surprises throughout the trial.
