EXCHANGE: A Day in the Life of a Project Manager with Desis Maura

Desis Maura has over 10 years' experience in project management with medium to large organizations. He is a Project Management Institute certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Desis is also a Prosci Change Manager and is an Axis Certified Professional. He has served as an Industry Advisory Committee for the development of Seminole Community College Bachelor of Science Information System Technology Program. Desis graduated from Columbia College of Missouri, Summa Cum Laude. 

As Management Information Systems Project Manager at Florida Hospital, Desis was responsible for managing several multi-million dollar, high visibility projects with direct impact to patient care across the east, central, and western Florida Hospitals facilities. Desis' most recent accomplishments include a project that has reduced Sepsis bound patients, a care management tool to provide care plans post patient discharge, and a community connectivity orders and management system that connects private practices directly to Florida Hospital. 

Desis' career has earned him such titles as associate project manager, project manager, intermediate project manager and senior project manager. He now has the title of Population Technology Health Consultant/Program Manager with Adventist Health Systems--Florida Hospital's parent company.

Desis is married and has four children ages 8,6,3, and 1. During his off time, he loves spending time with his family and acting like a tourist at local theme parks.
