Join us at the UCF Student Union stage on Wednesday, February 22nd at 12pm for UCF’s first March for Jobs & Freedom!
This Black History Month, the College Democrats at UCF Black Caucus will be looking back and moving forward. On August 28th 1963, hundreds of thousands of American activists marching for civil rights descended on Washington for the “The March for Jobs and Freedom,” also known as the March on Washington. Our Black Caucus, along with on and off-campus allies, will be recreating this great march.
This event will feature:
-On site sign-making
-Student & community speakers
-Excerpts from MLK Jr.’s “I Have a Dream Speech”
-Keynote by UCF’s own Dr. Richard Lapchick
In 1963, hundreds of thousands gathered for civil rights. On February 22nd, we’re bringing that movement to UCF. We hope that you join us and Keep Moving Forward.
