This year at the seminar we're using our digital tools like never before. Our twitter will be constantly updated ...(#SS2012) with top stories and information from sessions. We'll be offering for the first time, hands-on workshops, demo & resume critiquing, and much more.
Also this year, make sure you come equipped with your smart phone and laptop...you never know when it will come in handy. Don't forget your business cards to give out to our professionals at the end of each session.
Keep in mind etiquette and wear professional attire to make a GREAT impression!
Spring Seminar Schedule:
9:00-9:45am Covering Breaking News (Interactive)
Break up into teams, present a news story and different groups do different things - twitter, facebook, newscast, web version. Compare skills and what they did right and wrong.
10:00-10:45am I graduate, now what? (Sit down session)
Discussing when to send out tapes/learning about contracts/what to look for
11:00-11:45am Demo Critique/Resume Critique (time may be extended)
Students will have the chance to sign up for one-on-one resume critiques, while waiting for their time they can watch the demo critiques and learn by watching.
12:00-12:45pm Lunch
All professionals are welcome to stay for lunch!
1:00-1:45pm Life & Family (Sit down session)
How to make family life work with this career
2:00pm-3:30pm Finding Stories (Interactive)
Broken into teams again, students go out of the room and either find or create their own stories, record it (using their phones). Everyone presents it to the professionals and they offer feedback.
$10 for RTDNA members and $15 for non-members. Lunch, snacks, and networking provided!
We will also be visiting different classrooms to sell the ticket and available in the NSC lobby the week before the event!!
All students from UCF, Valencia, SSC, & Full Sail are welcome to join.
