Announcing the Final Examination of Victoria Micaletti for the degree of MASTER OF FINE ARTS in Theatre
The thesis covers an analysis of the acting methodologies of Konstantin Stanislavski, Michael Chekhov, and Jerzy Grotowski, and focuses on the connection between the psychological and physical work of the actor. Using several different exercises from each of these three theorists, I have developed an acting process that will serve as a general aid for any actor seeking to create a unique character in their work on stage. Using my rehearsal and performance experiences from The Amphibians, The Wolves, Welcome to the Moon, and Shrek the Musical, I was able to apply the different exercises and use my practice as research. The aim of my thesis is to create an acting method that benefits actors in the creation of characters within a multitude of performance styles.
