Sam Abbitt: "Running with Savage Race" - Entrepreneurial Speaker Series

Sam Abbitt is the founder and CEO of Savage Race, a no-holds-barred obstacle racing series with a nationwide presence. The race events feature a 4-6 mile off-road running course with 20+ obstacles that vary from muddy crawls under barbed wire, to freezing cold ice water swims to leaps over roaring bonfires.

Abbitt earned two master;s degrees from the University of Florida, an MBA and an M.S. in Building Construction. His professional background includes working as a commercial construction project manager for Charles Perry Construction and PPI Construction Management (now CPPI). While working for these firms, he controlled construction budgets which included a $96 million new high school project and several major hospital additions. Abbitt is a fitness enthusiast who has been able to combine his experience with his passion to create Savage Race, which draws over 3,500 participants and spectators to each event.
