The UCF Colleges of Sciences, Business Administration, and Engineering and Computer Science invite you and your guests to a truly unique experience regarding the future of Big Data in Central Florida. You'll hear from some of the top scholars and professionals skilled in analyzing large data sets to reveal patterns, trends and associations to help determine human behavior and interactions, and meet some of the graduate students who will soon be the pioneers of data analytics and data mining for tomorrow's leading businesses.

 

Distinguished speakers for the evening include:

  • Dr. Robert Porter, '81, '10, Executive Academic Director of the UCF Executive Development Center and Lecturer of Management;
  • Dr. Shunpu Zhang, Professor and Chair of the UCF Department of Statistics;
  • Dr. Ivan Garibay, '00, Assistant Professor, Director of UCF Research Information Systems and Chief Information Officer at the UCF Office of Research and Commercialization; and
  • Dr. Amit Joshi, Associate Professor of Marketing in the UCF College of Business Administration.

You will also hear from keynote speaker and UCF alumnus, Lee Odess, '99, Vice President of UniKey Technologies, on how businesses can leverage the tools and methods taught in UCF Big Data programs to raise the bar in their particular industries.
