Brian Nichols is Vice President of Portfolio and Project Management Office, Technology Organization at NBCUniversal. NBCUniversal is one the world’s leading media and entertainment companies. NBCUniversal operates 30 news and entertainment cable networks with brands such as MSNBC, USA, Bravo, E!, and Syfy; the NBC and Telemundo broadcast networks; filmed studios including Universal Pictures, DreamWorks and Focus Features; and Universal Theme Parks.

In his role, he is responsible for partnering with company leaders on technology investment decisions and monitoring their portfolio of projects to achieve business outcomes and manage risks. He also works with project managers and teams to drive better project execution through mentoring and deploying project management best practices.

Prior to joining NBCUniversal, Brian started his career at Ernst & Young in Financial Services, and still considers himself a “recovering CPA.” He moved into the Technology track during his tenure as Finance Director at Turner Broadcasting when he was asked to lead their financial systems implementation. He has since held various technology leadership positions, including building and leading Project Management Offices at The Coca-Cola Company, Intuit (QuickBooks, Turbo Tax, Quicken and Mint), and VMware.

Brian has his BSBA in Accounting from the University of Central Florida, and his MBA in Finance from Rollins College. He is a native of Orlando Florida, and currently lives in Los Angeles with his husband Andrew and their two dogs, Cody and Chloe. They were inspired by their Chloe to author “Chloe’s Dogma, Simple Teachings from our Rescue Dog on Living a Happy Life.”
