Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder & Bipolar Disorder - Possible Causes, Related Brain Abnormalities and Effective Treatments by Dr. Jeffrey S. Bedwell

Schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder and bipolar disorder are all forms of severe and chronic mental illness. There is considerable confusion in the general media about what these disorders actually represent. In addition, there has been recent progress in our understanding of the likely causes of these disorders, the related brain abnormalities and the optimal treatments to improve daily functioning for these individuals. In particular, there is recent evidence that these three disorders may share one or more underlying causes. In this presentation, Dr. Bedwell will provide the latest information regarding our understanding of these disorders and available treatment options. He will also discuss ongoing research in the CNS Laboratory which aims to better understand the underlying causes of these disorders. Read More
