The Use of Anaerobic Speed Reserve for High-Intensity Interval Training Prescription

Friday, September 6, 2024 11 a.m. to noon

Dr. Emerson Franchini will present a comprehensive overview of the anaerobic speed reserve and its application in designing effective high-intensity interval training programs. The lecture will explore how anaerobic speed reserve, which represents the difference between an athlete's maximal sprinting speed and their speed at maximal oxygen uptake, can be utilized to optimize high-intensity interval training protocols for various sports and fitness goals. Dr. Franchini will discuss practical methods for assessing anaerobic speed reserve, interpreting the results, and implementing this knowledge to create individualized and sport-specific interval training sessions that maximize performance adaptations.
