MAE Seminar Series with Md Shahjahn Hossain

Friday, March 14, 2025 noon to 1:15 p.m.

Md Shahjahan Hossain presents research on the use of complex Kresling origami folds in sandwich composite structures for aerospace applications. The study explores the unique mechanical properties of 3D-printed Kresling cores, highlighting their lightweight yet strong nature under various mechanical loads. This research is significant as it is the first to investigate the bending behavior of sandwich structures with a double Kresling pattern, offering promising insights for the development of advanced materials with tailored stiffness for aerospace engineering.
