Refugee and Immigrant Simulation

Tuesday, March 28, 2017 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The School of Social Work invites members of the campus and local communities to participte in a Refugee Simulation at Memory Mall on March 28, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Refugee Simulation will offer individuals an opportunity to walk in the shoes of immigrant and refugee populations. The simulation will include a camp with multiple tents set up to demonstrate the living conditions of refugees and the food and supplies they receive.

Participants will begin by entering a check-in tent where they will receive an identity card that describes who they are and where they're from.

Social work students and faculty members -- along with members of Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement of Central Florida -- will be on hand to share information and suggest ways to get involved.
