MAE Seminar Series with Joseph H. Koo

This seminar introduces ablation science and technology for aerospace and defense applications, targeting both newcomers and experienced researchers in materials science, chemistry, and physics. It covers a wide range of topics including ablative materials for thermal protection systems and solid rocket motors, in-situ sensing, aerothermal testing, thermophysical characterization, material response modeling, and advanced micro-CT analysis.

The seminar is led by Prof. Koo, a Research Professor at The University of Texas at Austin with over 50 years of industrial and academic experience, author of four textbooks and more than 800 publications, and a Fellow or Associate Fellow of several leading professional societies.
