This seminar introduces ablation science and technology for aerospace and defense applications, targeting both newcomers and experienced researchers in materials science, chemistry, and physics. It covers a wide range of topics including ablative materials for thermal protection systems and solid rocket motors, in-situ sensing, aerothermal testing, thermophysical characterization, material response modeling, and advanced micro-CT analysis.
The seminar is led by Prof. Koo, a Research Professor at The University of Texas at Austin with over 50 years of industrial and academic experience, author of four textbooks and more than 800 publications, and a Fellow or Associate Fellow of several leading professional societies.
