Red Sand Project

Wednesday, January 21, 2026 noon to 1 p.m.

As part of the Human Trafficking Awareness Month activities, we will host the Red Sand Project on campus. Red Sand Project is a participatory artwork created by Molly Gochman that uses sidewalk interventions and earthwork installations to create opportunities for people to question, connect, and take action against vulnerabilities that can lead to human trafficking, modern slavery, and exploitation.

The grains of red sand are poured in sidewalk cracks to represent the millions of people who fall through the cracks and are commercially sexually exploited.

The installation will happen at the Rosen College fountain.
