Wednesday, February 11, 2026 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The UCF School of Visual Arts & Design is proud to welcome artist Alex Jackson as part of the SVAD Distinguished Artist Series.

Alex Jackson lives and works in the Philadelphia area. He holds an MFA from Yale University, a BFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and was a resident at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. He has been included in numerous group exhibitions. and has held several solo exhibitions at Steven Zevitas Gallery in Boston, and Jenkins Johnson Gallery in New York.

Jackson’s practice converges at the disciplines of both painting and writing, using narrative and worldbuilding as conceptual frameworks for image-making. His practice is centered around a continuously expanding text, Color Theory for Ghosts, a book of records written by a character known as Mu, a maroon who believes he has fallen off the edge of the earth.

The SVAD Distinguished Artist Series is an initiative that introduces the UCF students and community to professional and emerging contemporary artists in various fields of study.
Those attending will enjoy a lecture from Alex Jackson on his artistic practice and will also have the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session afterwards. This event is FREE and open to the public.
