Immersive Embroidery: Viewing the Bayeux Tapestry in a Virtual Landscape

Wednesday, March 11, 2026 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

This immersive workshop will offer a discussion on Medieval Tapestries as well as the landscape of Medieval Western Europe that resulted in the creation of the Bayeux Tapestry - a 230-foot-long embroidered tapestry dating from the eleventh century that depicts the Norman Conquest of England. 

Through the use ofthe DEC’s new immersive technology, attendees will get to experience the tapestry's narrative in a new and ingenuitive digital form.
