The Life of A Druze Arab Israeli IDF General: Amal Asad - with formal introduction by UCF Professor Kenneth Hanson

Thursday, January 31, 2013 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Multicultural Students Center and Central Florida Hillel are honored to introduce middle-eastern speaker, Amal Asad. Following a formal introduction given by UCF Judaic Studies Professor Kenneth Hanson, Amal Asad will be discussing his life experiences in Israel as a Druze Arab Israeli IDF General. Based on his life experience, Amal emphasizes the significance of cultural differences to life in a multicultural society. Problems and solutions he has encountered in his activities within a wide range of military and civilian frameworks and his involvement with Druze, Jewish, and Arab societies, shaped Amal's original point of view on this controversial subject. We will be offering FREE Middle Eastern food and there will be a Q&A session following the event. This event is free of charge and is open to all UCF students, faculty, and staff. Read More
