No police officer, nurse, EMT-- even medical examiners and physicians-- is immune to shock, sadness and lingering trauma.
This intensive program is intended to help attendees better understand how the wide spectrum of first responders can maintain their own sense of awareness in the midst of a critical incident and in the many days that follow. While many contain their emotions out of respect for their families and to demonstrate resilience, others mask their emotions and often suffer emotional and physical consequences later.
The program, a collaboration between the UCF Police Department and University Relations, will be moderated by Dr. Larry Barton, Distinguished Professor of Crisis Managment and Public Safety at UCF.
Complimentary parking will be available in Garage H. Coffee, tea & light refreshments will be served.
Attendees are encouraged to register here.
