On August 28th the College Democrats at UCF will be celebrating Women's Equality Day with our 4th Annual UCF Women's Suffrage March.
The 19th Amendment granted women the right to vote, and was signed into law in 1920. This year will mark its 93rd Anniversary, and with the recent political attacks towards a woman's access to healthcare being seen across the nation, now is the time to have our voices be heard.
Join us for our 4th Annual UCF Women's Suffrage March as we listen to inspirational guest speakers, and then host an on-campus march for women's equality.
Confirmed speakers include:
• UCF SGA President Melissa Westbook
• UCF Women's Studies Program Director Dr. Maria Santana
• Planned Parenthood of Greater Orlando President & CEO Jenna Tosh
• Orlando's First Female Police Chief Val Demings
Participating organizations:
• College Democrats at UCF
• National Organization for Women at UCF
• UCF Center for Success of Women Faculty
• UCF Women's Studies Program
• VOX: Voices for Planned Parenthood at UCF
Students will be able to participate in an on-site sign, sash, and T-shirt making activity leading up to the march.
All are encouraged to attend and to wear white to symbolize the Women's Suffrage Movement.
